LAS VEGAS, Here We Come!

It's now official. We are moving to Las Vegas! In early December Jared's company went through a realignment and his territory was absorbed and as a result of that he was "displaced." So for the past month and a half he has been without a job and able to be here with us! I've loved having him home and would keep it that way if it weren't for the fact that we do need an income to sustain us. It has been very nice to be able to run errands or go play volleyball without having to bundle up the kids and drag them from place to place. It has definitely been a trial, but it has also made us stronger. We have relied on our faith and we know that things will work out and that we'll be where we need to be at this point in our lives. We have seen so many blessings come and our testimonies have been strengthened tremendously. I know that our Father in Heaven hears and answers our prayers and that it is often through other people that our prayers are answered and our needs met. We are so grateful for all of those who have helped us out, anonymously or not. We have realized how generous people really are. It's been a very humbling experience and Jared and I have been overwhelmed with people's kindness, especially those in our ward, our families, and close friends. We love you all and thank you for your love, concern, and support. We would prefer not to move because we absolutely love where we are and we love our ward, but there are also parts of us that are excited for a new adventure and to meet new people. We'll miss having Jared's family so close, but we know that we will grow closer as a family and have to rely on one another more. I believe that things happen for a reason and I'm excited for our new adventure. We'll probably be here for another month before packing up and taking off which will give us a chance to enjoy the cold before heading to the heat (I welcome the thought of that right now, but I'm not so sure I'll feel the same way in 4-5 months). So that's that. Wish us luck! Bring on the scorpions!

Lori, I had no idea you had been going through that! I am so sorry. It's always hard to leave a place that you have connections to but the adventure of starting over and making new friends is so exciting. I really think you will like Vegas. I am excited because Vegas is only 4 hours from Phoenix! We will definitely have to plan some trips to see each other now! YEAH!

I am sad you guys are leaving too. You will be missed! I do think that you will like Las Vegas though. They have the best Parks and Rec program and the libraries are wonderful! Also the church is so strong there - we loved our ward there. Let me know if your have any questions about Vegas. I wasn't there for too long, about a year, but I can let you know the good areas to look for places to live etc. Anyway good luck with everything!
