Back to Idaho
Our Grandpa Ralph passed away on March 26th. He was the jokester and constant comedian at every family get-together and he will surely be missed. Jared had been planning on attending his funeral alone since it was all the way back in Idaho, but at the last minute, we decided to take the whole family. We left on Saturday, the 28th of March and drove to Fruit Heights and then drove to Boise the next day. The funeral was on Monday, March 30th, and it was well worth the drive. It was so neat to hear stories about Grandpa Ralph that we'd never heard before and the funeral services were excellent. They were a celebration of the life of a wonderful man, and we know that he is now in a better place with loved ones surrounding him there. Grandpa's passing also gave Jared and me a great teaching opportunity with our kids as we sat on our bed and drew out the plan of salvation for them. I don't think they had ever really applied it to themselves since nobody they were close to had ever died. You could kind of see the light come on in their heads, it was a neat experience. While in Idaho, we were able to spend time with lots of family, both immediate, and extended, and we had a really good time. We love you all!! We also got to stop in and see some friends and neighbors (we love you Shoemakers, Porters, and Whites) and were sad that we didn't have time to visit everyone. We did, however, take the girls to eat lunch at their old school and have lunch recess with their classes and friends. One of Brynn's best friends even got to skip the rest of school and we all went and hung out at her house for a couple of hours before heading back to Utah, and then on to Vegas. It was a lot of driving, but well worth the time and effort it took. It was so fun to be back in our old stomping grounds. We miss it, but are happy here too. We have made some good friends and are keeping ourselves plenty busy. Oh, and I forgot my camera, of course, so we don't even have any pictures--oh fiddlesticks!!!

Boy, you have had a lot going on in your life! So sorry to hear about Grandpa Ralph, but glad that you were able to be there and have that experience with your kids. Glad to hear that you are settling in in Vegas. I'm hoping you want a little visitor!! That's right....we are heading to Disneyland. I finally got my hubby talked in to going the last week of April. I'm not sure of our exact dates yet, but we will be staying there in Vegas on our way down with Trav's mission companion and family. I would love to try and arrange time to see you! I will email you when we finalize our plans in the next few days and see if you will be around!! Take care!
I heard you came into town and was so sad we didn't get to see you. I am sorry for the occasion, but glad you were able to make it back. We miss you guys so much. I hope life really begins to settle in and you find a new "home" there. You will always have one back here.
Sorry to hear about your Grandpa- love people like that in my life and I'm always sad to see them go. I'm happy for your whole family to be able to come up, though! We sure do miss you!!! Those pictures of you all sleeping in the living room are awesome!! We did that our first night in our new home and we even had beds!! We still like to do it!! Fun family time! I'm grateful to keep up with your family on this blog! Miss you and love you lots
