Beach Bums
This past weekend we took off for the beach to enjoy a bit of sun and sand before school starts. We figured we had to take the trip since we live so much closer than ever before. We got there on Friday afternoon and headed to Seal Beach for a few hours before heading back to the hotel. The next day we went to Newport Beach and we were there for 7 hours and even then, most of the kids didn't want to leave ( Bailey being the exception....she wanted to go swimming at the hotel). We had never taken our kids to the beach so it was all new to them and they loved it. They couldn't get enough of digging in the sand and chasing the waves, though the water was a bit on the chilly side when you first went in. It was so beautiful. The ocean is an amazing thing, so vast and huge. It is a little overwhelming if you let your mind wander as to what lives in it's depths! Yikes. We had to reassure our kids that there were no sharks near the beach though, or there was going to be no swimming for our little ones with imaginations!
Seal Beach

Our two little monkeys.
Josh and I were throwing bread sticks to the seagulls and pigeons and it didn't take long before we had well over a hundred birds around. Luke thought it was great and didn't waste any time chasing them all away with a handful of sand as ammunition. Atta boy! Making daddy proud!

I LOVE the beach! We went to Seal Beach a few weeks ago and it was SO windy. We didn't get to spend as much time there as I would have liked but the kids still had a good time. Isn't it great being this close to the ocean? You sure have some cute kiddos. We seriously need to get together....that's all there is to it! Great pics.
What great pictures!! I love seeing daddies being buried in the sand. It will only be a week and a half until we get to the ocean--to Jeremy and Verlee's. I can't wait!! We tried to go last year, but you know what a disaster that was!!!! Iloved, loved, loved seeing you all at the reunion. What a neat group!!
Hi Lori, looks like you guys had a fabulous summer! Glad you are liking the new area. We are really diggin' Kansas. The humidity about kills us each summer, but the falls are gorgeous and winters are mild. Take care!
